Alex Archer - Freelance Editor

Originally from Melbourne, I moved to England in 1991 for a two-year break to see the other side of the world. After 8 months of back packing around Europe, I decided to stay a little longer than initially planned and managed to get work in a television production company, Clark Television, and I now have experience editing broadcast television going back to 1995. I have been working freelance since 1998. After nearly 22 years in the UK I returned to Australia at the end of 2012 for some sorely missed sunshine. I have worked on a wide range of projects, including drama-reconstruction, observational, natural history, historical and science based documentaries, as well as weekly fast turn around current affairs programs.

Films I have worked on have been nominated for and have won various awards, including two Emmys, a Peabody, an AIB and several RTS awards.

I pride myself on having always had extremely good working relationships with directors and have worked many times with the same directors, and I am comfortable working on my own as shooting continues. I have worked extensively with both English and US broadcasters, as well as Chinese, Japanese and now Australian.

I work with Avid and FCP, and I am able to provide my own equipment.
